What You Shouldn't Wear To Someone Else's Wedding

There’s a difference between looking beautiful at a wedding and looking like you were hoping someone would confuse the seating chart and place you at the altar :)

I would like to preface this by saying I am getting married this year. This article doesn’t really come from a place of worry it comes from many conversations with my bridesmaids and friends who have been telling me that on the day they will escort any inappropriately dressed guest. Its a fun topic to unpack.

There is a specific kind of woman, and you know her, who walks into a wedding(but not only into a wedding) wearing what she would wear to a thirtieth birthday at a downtown restaurant and assumes everyone will simply adjust. The dress is fine. The dress is, on most other days, a perfectly reasonable dress. But today is not most other days. Today is somebody else's day. And the woman in the dress has, with perfect posture and zero malice, made it about herself (people who always make everything about themselves is a special topic I could discuss on another occasion).
